XADREZ® Style
A style that has made history.
Square-shaped floor tiles in the natural gray color of cement, and squares made with cement burnt with the traditional vermelhão produced with Xadrez® combined and placed as in a chess board used to be very fashionable in the time of our grandparents.
People used to know this floor paving style as chess-like style (estilo xadrez). This popular denomination for such square-based composition was the inspiration for renaming vermelhão, when the product, which was previously sold in bulk, began to be sold in small boxes under the name Pó Xadrez.
However, such an interesting story would make no sense, or would not even be possible, if it wasn’t for the long-lasting properties of the LANXESS Xadrez® pigment, which resisted time due to its resistance to weather conditions (sun, rain, wind).
Time went by, the color remained, and the Xadrez® pigment began to be produced in other colors in order to meet the increasing demands of the market. What used to be – and still is – traditional became fashionable, and today we can find Xadrez® pigment in wonderful urban houses that illustrate the best decoration magazines; in beach or countryside homes, creating cozy environments; in historical cities, restoring the colors of old facades and preserving the patrimony; and even in popular homes, coloring, protecting and providing more quality of life to people.
