The production of Xadrez® is an environmentally interesting process, for it utilizes products such as iron scraps, residues generated basically by the automobile industry. This means that, besides not extracting the environment’s natural resources, the production process of Xadrez® contributes for removing such scraps from the environment.
All the water used for manufacturing Xadrez® is collected from the River Tietê, treated and poured back on the river, with superior quality and in conformity with the standards demanded by the legislation. Innovation during the process allowed for a significant reduction of the consumption of the water collected; this caused the Porto Feliz branch to win the Environmental category award at the 2nd edition of the LANXESS Prize, given by the Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental Department, which is located in the city of Leverkusen, Germany.
The vapor utilized in the production process is obtained from the burning of wood splinter to be used as a substitute for oil fuels; this measure dramatically reduces the emanation of dangerous gases to the atmosphere, thus contributing for reducing the global warming.
Pó Xadrez is a still product that does not contaminate the environment; its package is produced with material that can be 100% recycled. It is also important to highlight that all disposal must be performed in a responsible way.
The product bears the environmental responsibility and quality certification seals ISO 9000 and ISO 14000. It also carries the quality and social responsibility certification seal SA 8000 for not using slave or children labor.
